Maia Acquaviva is a native of the Republic of Georgia. She is thrilled to serve as Managing Partner and Executive Chef of Oda House and about the opportunity to bring Georgian cuisine and a dose of Georgian culture and pride to the East Village. She is a graduate of the Star Career Academy of New York and former Executive Chef at Russian restaurant Mari Vanna. Maia moved to the United States from Georgia in 2007 and though she is a trained plastic surgeon, she knew at an early age that cooking was her absolute calling and passion. Upon moving to the U.S. that passion and dream began to blossom and, says Maia, “words cannot fully express how grateful I am for the opportunities that have presented themselves to me.” Her life motto, is “If you want something with all your heart, the entire universe mobilizes around you, to make your wishes come true and nothing is impossible in the world!”
